- Department: Cornerstone NYCHA Community Center Programming
- Position: Group Leader Cornerstone - Seth Low
- Reports to: Cornerstone Program Director and Assistant
Director
- Salary Range: $35,000
- Hours/Schedule: Full-time 35 hours/week during the school year
(Weekdays and Weekends 2:00pm - 10:00pm); Summer program hours
(Weekdays and Weekends 3:00pm - 11:00pm). All services are
in-person at the site location. Must be able to work evenings and

Services is one of Brooklyn's first and largest non-sectarian
social services agencies, serving over 20,000 individuals annually.
Our services include foster care prevention, crisis intervention,
early childhood and after-school education, vocational training,
job placement, and clinical services for adults with disabilities
and mental health histories.The Cornerstone, Learning Lab, and
Beacon Programs offer academic, arts, and recreational activities
to children, teens, and adults in NYCHA community centers and DOE
schools, located in Brownsville, Fort Greene, Coney Island, and
Sunset Park.Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Site Director and Assistant Director to
provide activities for children, youth, adults, and seniors.
- Supervise and manage classroom(s) with the help of an activity
specialist.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety protocols from
DOH, DYCD, DOE, and BCS.
- Develop curriculum and activities for children in grades
K-5.
- Coordinate planning and preparation of activities and materials
with activity specialists.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, snacks,
recreation, and field trips. Provide supervision for middle/high
school participants during evening and weekend hours, if
applicable.
- Take daily attendance and record it in the DYCD database.
- Plan and oversee community events for children, parents, and
the community.
- Monitor parental/guardian drop-off and pick-up following safety
protocols.
- Promote the program and upcoming events to parents and the
community.
- Attend required training sessions, including health and safety
protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the site
director.Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
- Background in arts, sports, music, drama, dance, photography,
crafts, sewing, or related fields is a plus.
- Enjoy working with children and able to pass a background
