The Regeneron Genetics Center IT group seeks an Application Developer to join our team supporting groundbreaking genetic research. In this role, you'll create high-performance application interfaces and data pipelines around our extensive genetic datasets. Youll tackle complex performance challenges and develop solutions that enable researchers to query vast amounts of data with speed and precision. As an Application Developer, a typical day might include: Build and optimize processing solutions using TypeScript, Python, and AWS cloud services Implement scalable pipelines to efficiently manage and query large-scale genetic datasets Develop reliable APIs and services for efficient information access and integration Optimize SQL queries and fine-tune database configurations, indexes, and partitioning strategies to improve query response times Implement caching mechanisms and performance monitoring to identify and resolve bottlenecks Collaborate closely with research teams to understand requirements and gather feedback Utilize AWS services including Athena, Redshift, Aurora, Lambda, and ECS for cloud-native applications Work with DevOps team to deploy solutions to cloud infrastructure Design efficient ETL processes that minimize data transformation overhead Stay informed about new technologies that could enhance our technical capabilities Follow established standards for security, authentication, logging, and resilience Thoroughly test, benchmark and validate solutions to ensure performance at scale This job might be for you if, you: Are passionate about creating high-impact solutions that accelerate scientific research Enjoy working across the entire application stack Approach application design holistically and prioritize reuse, scalability and cost Pay meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to quality and testing Are adaptable to rapidly evolving priorities in a dynamic research environment To be considered for this role , you must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher with at least 4 years of relevant IT experience building cloud native applications and hands on experience with the following: Python, TypeScript, Docker, ETL orchestration, PostgresSQL.
