Schenectady City School District Position Overview: The Schenectady
City School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Culinary
Arts Teacher to inspire and equip students with the skills needed
for success in the food service and hospitality industry. This role
offers the opportunity to provide hands-on instruction in food
safety, meal planning, commercial food production, catering, and
culinary arts. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning
environment where students develop technical expertise, creativity,
and professionalism while preparing for future careers in the
culinary field. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in culinary arts,
food safety, and meal production.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with industry
standards and student learning goals.
- Provide hands-on training in commercial food preparation,
sanitation, customer service, and catering.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that
fosters student success.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as
needed to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and community
members to enhance student learning opportunities.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe, and professional kitchen lab
environment.
- Support students in career exploration, internships, and
industry certification opportunities. Core Competencies:

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Education, or
a related field (preferred).
- Valid Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification in
Culinary Arts or Family and Consumer Sciences or the ability to
obtain certification.
- Industry experience in food service, restaurant management, or
culinary arts.
- Prior teaching experience, especially in an urban or diverse
educational setting (preferred).
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Commitment to student success and career readiness. Application
