Job Description /n /n /n /n /n /n/n/t/n/t/t/n/t/t/t/n/t/t/t Summary of Job Purpose /n/t/t/t/n/t/t/n/t/n/n/n /n/t - Assessment, planning, implementing, evaluation and supervising care of patients in all areas to include teaching and discharge relief charge, as needed, utilizing standards of care, policies and procedures. /n /n/n/n/t/n/t/t/n/t/t/t/n/t/t/t Essential Job Responsibilities /n/t/t/t/n/t/t/n/t/n/n/n /n/t - The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The employee may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time./n/t /n/t/t - Provides ongoing accurate, complete physical and emotional and spiritual assessment for all patients assigned. /n/t/t - Establishes nursing diagnosis based on assessment with follow through plan of care. /n/t/t - Participates in interdisciplinary planning of care, and is able to work in LD Nursery and Post-Partum. /n/t/t - Safe, competent and complete care based on patient assessment and diagnosis. /n/t/t - Provides patient and family education to include in-house and post discharge. /n/t/t - Evaluate and update plan of care. /n/t/t - Clerical duties to include accurate transcription of MD orders and knowledge of computer R/T those orders. /n/t/t - Safe, accurate, timely administration of medications. /n/t/t - Supervise OBTs, Nursing Assistants, and Orientees to maintain competent level of care. /n/t/t - Accurate and complete documentation including co-signature when required. /n/t/t - Performs any other duties as assigned. /n/t /n/t /n /n/n/n/t/n/t/t/n/t/t/t/n/t/t/t Essential Job Qualifications /n/t/t/t/n/t/t/n/t/n/n/n /n/t - Education:/n/n/t /n/t/t - Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Associate diploma or B.S.N. /n/t /n/t /n/t - Experience:/n/t /n/t/t - Minimum of 6 months one year medical surgical hospital experience required, previous OB experience preferred /n/t /n/t /n/t - Training/License:/n/t /n/t/t - N.A./Current NYS Registered Nurse /n/t /n/t /n/t - Other:/n/t /n/t/t - BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM Training required within 6 months of employment. /n/t/t - Certification in inpatient obstetrics and EFM certification preferred. /n/t /n/t /n /n/n /n /n /n /n /n /n
